How We Met

You know how you always have that friend or family member trying to hook you up with some random person all the time?  Yeah.  Me too.

She was dating this guy who had ended up locked up for a breaking and entering charge.  Well, I had just moved to Virginia from Arkansas back in 2013 to live with my dad.  My cousin called me and said, “I know it sounds weird, but…would you talk to someone in prison?”  I just shrugged her off, because she always tried to hook me up with some new person that never ended up working out and quite frankly, I just didn’t want to meet anyone at the moment.  She continued to say “he’s really cute, he’s a friend of my boyfriend, just give him a chance.”  I have a huge heart, so I thought “what the heck”.

I told her he could write me, but I couldn’t see black on white very well.  I have a vision problem that enables me big time.  She told him and he wrote me in red.  Red?  Ok, that didn’t help at all.  It was a cute gesture, though.  I had my sister read the letter to me.  He told me the short form of his story and I proceeded to write back.

After the first letter or two, he decided to call me.  I’ll never forget the first words he said to me.

“Hey girl.”

“Well, hey, what’s up.”

“Not to much…sorry about the Tyboy thing, it’s what my family calls me.”

Out of all the things he could be concerned about, it was the name he uses on his phone ID.

Little did I know that one letter would turn into a phone call.  One phone call was all it took to keep me up at night awaiting his call.  I sure didn’t even know that one phone call would lead to one visit.

I rode down to Indian Creek with my cousin so that she could see her boyfriend and so that I could meet my mystery man.  I didn’t know what he looked like, but I told him I had blue hair, so it wouldn’t be difficult to find me.  Yes, I had blue hair.  Don’t laugh.

December 22nd, 2013 was the very first day that our eyes met.  I was hooked.  He was hooked.  That night he asked me to be his “friend that supersedes a friend”.  He took a full 20 minutes to get to the question.

I accepted and that’s how we got together.

December 22nd, 2013.  A day I will never forget.

I hope you keep checking up on my blog.  Like I said before, I am new to this, but I think I have a story worth reading.  I guess if you’re into this kind of stuff.

Let’s Get Started.

“Let’s get started.”  How original, huh?

Well, as the title suggests; this is my very first post…ever.  I will make this short, sweet, and to the point so that I can go ahead and get it out of the way.  First impressions are always lasting impressions, right?  Well, I may need a second and third impression if it isn’t to much to ask.  Third time is a charm!

I’m not going to give names or any specific information, though…for obvious reasons.  If you’re in my tiny group of beloveds, then you already know everything.

Well, this is all for my first blog.  Boring?  Yep.  Give me another shot, though, it’s late, I’m tired, and I haven’t explored this thing yet.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
